There are 10 different possible statuses a contact may have in Prospect Square, however the Unengaged status has been the most popular as to why.
Unengaged: An email has been successfully delivered but has not been opened 15 days after the last 4 email sends from Prospect Square. These contacts will not be sent Prospect Square emails, and will automatically be sent a reengagement email. The contact status will remain as Unengaged until the contact opens and confirms they would like to continue receiving emails from the Prospect Square reengagement email, after which the contact status will change to "Active".
Verifying Contact: After a contact is imported into Prospect Square, the system will attempt to verify that the email address is valid through a backend process. During this process, the contact’s status will be marked as Verifying Contact.
Invalid: After the email validation process is completed, if the primary email address is found to be incorrect, invalid or a spam trap, the contact will be marked as Invalid. In addition to checking a contact’s email address validity, the system will also check a contact's email address against Prospect Square’s database. If a contact in the system is marked as Blocked (before 2/1/2024), Bounced, Spam or previously marked Unsubscribed from All, their status will also come back as Invalid. These contacts will not be sent Prospect Square emails.
Pending: After the email validation process is completed, if the primary email address is found to be valid, they will automatically be sent an opt-in email. Until the contact opens and confirms they would like to receive communication from the user, their contact status will remain as Pending.
No Email Sent: An email has not been sent to this contact from Prospect Square. Most commonly this is due to the contact being newly added or they have never been set up to a report, newsletter, or campaign in Prospect Square. These contacts will be sent Prospect Square emails.
Email Sent: An email has successfully been sent to this contact. This does not mean the contact has opened an email from Prospect Square, just that they have received an email. These contacts will be sent Prospect Square emails until they become Unengaged.
Active: An email has been successfully delivered and opened by the contact. These contacts will be sent Prospect Square emails.
Unsubscribed: A contact who has unsubscribed from ALL emails sent from Prospect Square. These contacts will not be sent Prospect Square emails.
Spam: A contact that has flagged a Prospect Square email as spam. Note that this could have been done by their email provider as well. These contacts will not be sent Prospect Square emails.
Bounced: A contact whose email address returned an error when Prospect Square attempted to send an email. This could be due to the contacts email address being incorrect, their email provider blocking Prospect Square emails, or their email inbox being at limit. These contacts will not be sent Prospect Square emails.
